Woman Charged with 'Wicked' Drunken Interruption

From MyFox National Reports

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - A night at the theater in Cleveland took a twist when some real drama broke out in the audience. Police said a drunken woman started throwing a fit during a performance of the Broadway show "Wicked" on Tuesday

Officers said 49-year old Kathleen Holmes was screaming obscenities and refused to leave the theater.

An undercover police officer eventually pulled Holmes from her seat and removed her.

During the ordeal, one of the actresses kept right on singing. The performer playing the part of Elphaba that night, the "green" witch, was understudy Meredith Kaye Clark.

"It's a point in the show where she sings about this guy she's pursuing. It's called 'I'm not that girl' [and] it's a very soft ballad, so a very touching moment in the show," said Steve Citerin of the Playhouse Square State Theater.

Citerin said that the audience appreciated the actress. "Everybody heard it. The actress heard it as well and, to her testament, she continued on with the show, didn't let it rattle her in any way and the audience recognized that and gave her a standing ovation "

Cleveland police arrested Holmes on a handful of charges, including assaulting a police officer.

Holmes did not have a comment on the incident.
