Sanity Saver: Easy Babysitting Swap System

Updated: Wednesday, 10 Mar 2010, 9:13 AM EST
Published : Wednesday, 10 Mar 2010, 9:13 AM EST

Stretch your dollars and swap babysitting time! Thanks to Springfield Moms reader Kelly Jackson for submitting this Sanity Saver tip. Kelly is entered into our prize drawing. If you have a Sanity Saver, email us , and be entered to win.

"Our mom's group purchased several poker chips. We divided them up equally. Each chip was worth a half an hour of time to be used within the group when you needed a babysitter for date night, shopping alone, errands, etc. If you ran low on chips, you needed to be the babysitter!

It worked out nicely because it was free babysitting, and we all know babysitters can be expensive. It was a nice play date for your child with people they knew and people you trusted. It was a win-win for all. Nice, cheap sanity saver!"
